MR (Medium Rigid) Truck License Requirements
A MR (Medium Rigid) Licence covers any truck or bus with 2 axles. You must have held your car Licence or higher for at least 12 months.
- Any motor vehicle with two axles and more than 8 tonnes GVM.
- Any towed trailer must not weigh more than 9 tonnes GVM.
Pre-requisites
Applicants must:
- Have held a Class C licence (not a learner) for at least one year.
- Complete the Roads and Maritime Service Rigid knowledge test and obtain a
- Heavy Vehicle Competency Based Assessment (HVCBA) logbook and guidebook.
Course Duration
Applicants will receive up to 6 hours training and assessments time, however a 48 hours notice is required by Roads and Maritime Services for the final competency to be conducted.
